He is openly misogynistic, thinks all black people exist in a living hell and are poor, and unsuccessful. He lives in a bubble so powerful that he went after one of the most loved women in the United States: Michelle Obama. A woman whose speech recently went viral in her defense of women (and decent, stable men) relative to Trump. He went after the First Lady, so why not go after Oprah? See how long that lasts. A hyper-successful black woman billionaire? Yeah. Pretty much the polar opposite of the picture Trump paints for the people who offers an anemic, absurd offer: “What do you have to lose?”
You don’t have to like Hillary Clinton, you just need to vote for her.
She has a point. Oprah is a passionate, but no-nonsense American icon who tends to stay out of politics. But recently, she made it clear what her thoughts were about voting for Clinton in a fairly poignant way, amazed that people are still conflating the two candidates and that many remain undecided:
There really is no choice, people. I hear this all the time. You get in conversations, and there’s not a person in this room who hasn’t been in the same conversation, where people say, ‘I just don’t know if I like her.’ She’s not coming over your house! You don’t have to like her. Do you like this country? You better get out there and vote!”
Here’s what she has to say about the choice.
Donald Trump has a long history of stewing over attacks from detractors, and after Michelle Obama’s speech went viral, he wasted little time attacking her. Whether it’s a Gold Star family, or the president’s wife, Trump has to have the last word, regardless of the personal cost or the damage it does to his campaign.
Do you think he’ll go after Oprah? We can only hope.
